Alternate Assessment
News and Resources About Alternate Assessment for Students with Disabilities

2009-2010 Alternate Assement PDF Print E-mail

As you know, the writing and social studies test has been suspended for the OAT for the next two years. This has impacted the Alternate Assessment for Students with Disabilities (AASWD). The chart above shows the new reading standards that will be assessed as replacements for the social studies and writing standards that were removed from the test. The new standards are in red, and were added to the grades 4, 5, 7, and 8 tests. The standards that are highlighted in yellow are the same standards from last year’s AASWD. They were highlighted because their position on the chart was moved to the left when compared to last year’s chart. The impact of adding the reading standards and removing the social studies and writing standards is that teachers administering the test in the 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8 th grades will now have to collect evidence on new tasks that are aligned with the new reading standards (in red lettering) and the associated application.

2009-2010 Ohio Statewide Assessment Rules Book PDF Print E-mail

The 2009-2010 Ohio Statewide Assessment Rules Book, formerly known as the Ohio Statewide Testing Rules Book (aka “The Rules Book”), has been posted to the ODE web site.

Go to education.ohio.gov and key word search Rules Book or click here:

http://www.ode.state.oh.us/GD/Templates/Pages/ODE/ODEDetail.aspx?page=3&TopicRelationID=1327&ContentID=43712&Content=74745

This version will stay posted on the web site until next autumn when the 2010 edition is ready. If there are any changes during the year, they will be included in a change page which will be posted to the same  web page as the Rules Book. This is to avoid confusion with multiple versions released during a year.
