“Raising the next generation is a shared responsibility. When families, communities and schools work together, students are more successful and the entire community benefits.” U.S. Department of Education. Teams accepted for this mini-grant that complete all of the requirements will receive up to $1,500.00 to help support implementation of their action plan. During this series of three sessions, we will identify and discuss Ann Turnbull’s seven principles of effective partnerships, Joyce Epstein’s six key strategies for involving families and community in the district and key activities to use with your building to support a partnership between families, community and your school. The purpose of the grant is to provide the building team an opportunity to:  learn about effective school-family-community partnerships  identify areas for improvement of school-family-community partnerships  establish a team to develop an action plan to implement new strategies or improve those already in place  implement that action plan  develop a sustainability plan
